Regular price $0.00 $134.99 Sale

Built on the SABO Deadlift PRO platform, the Heavy Duty are a step up in terms of stability and support. Durable strap, flat stable outsole, increased grip on the platform, a tight and close fit. They also have a strong back loop to make putting them on easier.  They also comes with two insoles: a denser insole to provide arch support and for competition, and a softer regular insole for comfort.

Please note - compared to the Deadlift PRO, the Heavy Duty have a more rigid outsole and a tighter fit.

Main Features:
  • EU Sizing - Whole European (EU) sizes. No half sizes. If in-between sizes, we recommend sizing up to the next whole size.
  • Anatomical shape - The shoe lasts have a natural anatomical shape and rounded internal heel bottom that securely envelopes the heel.
  • Two insoles - A thin, softer insole that provides a cover over the seams of the bottom sole.  And a denser, hard insole suitable for competition and provides better arch support.
  • Heel height - All the shoes of the PRO Series have a small heel drop of 1 mm. This innovation allows for a cambered heel design, similar to the camber in snow skis, when the lifter’s weight is added to the shoe, the heel flattens distributing the weight more evenly, over a wider surface area. This provides a more planted feeling and better heel drive.
  • Toe box - Nice and wide to allow for toe splay.
  • Innovative outsole - Completely new shoe outsole is designed for perfect deadlifts, squats and almost any Heavy Duty lifting. It has some unique features:
    • durable but very thin, barefoot feel at 5mm thick.
    • non-compressible.
    • wider bottom provides extra support and stability.
    • high board in the heel and on the toe side for better foot hold, minimizing slipping and foot rolling. Superior sumo pulling performance.
    • spherical heel zone to improve weight distribution.
  • Grip - The design, components and pattern of the bottom sole are designed to get better grip, comfort, durability and weight transmission.
  • Wide metatarsal strap - 40mm on (sizes 40-47.5) / 30mm on (sizes 36-39.5). New durable velcro. Provides superior support locking your foot into position.
  • Synthetic leather upper - vegan-friendly.
  • The Heavy Duty is also exceptionally versatile and is perfect for squatting (if you need a flat sole) and bench press.  They are the ideal shoe for Strongman/woman training and competition.
  • While these shoes look like they have a heel, they do not.  The appearance of a heel is due to the reinforced heel counter

How to find your SABO Heavy Duty shoe size

SABO Heavy Duty shoes are built on the European size system and come in whole EU sizes only (no half sizes, size 36 - 47). The table below shows the conversion of European to US mens's sizes. Since every foot is three-dimensional and varies across many different areas (such as width, instep etc), conversion tables can only approximate your true shoe size. In general, the conversions below will give you about 7-15mm of space between the toe and the top of the shoe. For most people, this is ideal.

    EU US men's US women's
    36 4.5 - 5 women's
    37 5.5 - 6 women's

Great stability!

I measured as described on the web site and ordered size 45, which turned out to be a little too short. Exchanged or size 46, which fit perfectly. Customer Service was very responsive and the exchange was handled quickly.
I bought these shoes primarily for squats, and boy, have they delivered. VERY stable! Many years ago I squatted with Nike Olympic shoes. When I went to a low bar, wide stance squat I switched to Chucks for a zero drop flat sole, and lately I had been using Asics wrestling shoes. The Chucks and Asics had the flat zero drop sole, but weren’t as stable as I wanted. I wanted the stability of an OLY shoe, with a flat zero drop sole and roomy toe box. The SABO Heavy Duty checked all the boxes. Also great for conventional stance deadlift, for all the same reasons. I couldn’t be happier with these shoes, and MAXbarbell!

Glad these worked out for you William and thank you so much for the review.

Shoes size

Not sure if it is appropriate to post this here.

I have been recommended this shoes by a friend who is a PWL Athlete.
I was wonder if I’m wearing an Adidas Ultraboost size 10 US, then which size of this shoes should I get?
Thanks alot.

If you usually wear size 10US, then I recommend size 43. If you sometimes wear size 10.5 US, then go with size 44, since they already fit fairly snug, it is better to err on the large side.
